After this past weekend’s 45th Anniversary of Walt Disney World, I have a wee bit of Disney withdrawal. We’ve actually visited twice in 2016, so I don’t expect any sympathy… unless you have some to spare.
The second time we visited Walt Disney World this year was during the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration #DisneySMMC, and included in my conference fee were 7-day Park Hopper Passes and NO WAY was I letting a minute of those go unused – we are big-time park people! For the majority of our stay, we stayed at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, where the conference was held… but we needed a couple more nights to use up those park hoppers before heading back home – Pop Century it is!
As much as Disney’s Deluxe resorts are amazing– we are a value and moderate resort family (depending on whatever promos are on). Not just because of price (although it is a big factor, I won’t lie), but because we are just at the parks so much, we mainly use our room to sleep and store our souvenirs. Why not stay off-site then? Well, we’ve done that too, but when you factor in the price of a rental car, parking, airport transfers, etc… you can’t find a better deal than a value Disney resort. Plus, they are just so DISNEY!
Many people recommend if you are resort hopping (moving from one resort to another) to move up as you go, not down, like we did this time around. Truthfully it really didn’t matter to us. Yes, I missed my fancy turquoise bedroom from Beach Club, but Chelsea thought Pop Century was the ‘fancier’ hotel… oh to be seven again.
I have to admit, I kind of love the ‘Disney-ness’ of Pop Century too… plus this walkman. I got one of these as a graduation present in 1992 🙂
Plus, there is just some classic Disney food that you are only going to find at Pop Century. Pop waffles for example…
Or Tie-Dye Cheesecake perhaps?
There may not be any waterslides at Disney Value Resorts, but the 3 pools at Pop Century are fun, huge and warm.
My goodness, we love Pop Century!
Have you stayed at Pop Century before? What is your favourite decade?
