On February 2nd, Canadian Egg Farmers left their farms and headed to the city. Early-rising and hungry Canadian commuters in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal were treated to fresh, delicious egg breakfast sandwiches and pots of sunny daffodils.
Because not all of us are urban early birds, Egg Farmers also ran a contest on social media where the rest of us could share our favourite ways to #WakeUpToYellow to be entered to win a uniquely Canadian holiday. If you missed it, here was the winning tweet:

So do I Lisha, so do I. Congrats!
Egg Farmers of Canada isn’t finished with their generosity though. One of my egg-loving Canadian readers is going to win a stand mixer with a value of over $500! You know what that means… Pavlova, Souffle, Meringues! Oh my, the possibilities are endless when you combine a stand mixer with leftover egg whites. There are oodles of recipes and tutorials on Eggs.ca to inspire you, including a basic one we all should have under our belts… Meringue.
So why do I continue to #WakeUpToYellow? Besides the obvious reasons- eggs are quick, versatile, simple to prepare, inexpensive and delicious; I’ll feel good knowing that I am supporting the more than 1,000 egg farmers across Canada who spend their days farming high-quality eggs so that I don’t have to (really, I can barely get the kiddo off to school on time let alone look after a chicken coop… puh-lease!).
Ready to win that mixer? Complete the form below and good luck!
