I received an email a couple weeks ago that piqued my interest. It was about Weetabix of all things. I’m 40 years old and never in my life have I even seen a Weetabix, let alone eaten one. I’m all about trying new things lately though, whether it’s snorkling, Zumba, or ziplining (okay, I didn’t do that last one, but I almost did), so a little cereal didn’t scare me.
Weetabix is all kinds of awesome! I had no idea it would be the soft, mushy mess that it was though – but that’s what makes it so yummy. I really assumed it was one big hard block of tasteless wheat, and you know what happens when one assumes, right? If you follow me on Instagram (you do, right?), you saw all the fun ways I dressed up my Weetabix, aka #MyBixMix. From fruit, to chocolate, to peanut butter, the options were endless. Personally, I like my Weetabix warmed with lots of almond milk and fresh strawberries – out of all of the combos I tried, that was my favourite. A close second was peanut butter, a few chocolate chips and sliced bananas (also warm with almond milk).
I felt awesome after my week of Weetabix and it has since made its way into my breakfast rotation. Hubs has jumped on the bandwagon too (he loves his warm with milk and maple butter). Here are some cool facts about Weetabix:
It has 4 ingredients (whole wheat, barley malt extract,
organic dehydrated cane syrup and salt)
It’s high in fibre
It’s low in fat
It has only 2g of sugar per serving
You can make BROWNIES from it!
Have you tried Weetabix? What is your BixMix? If you haven’t tried it, be brave, be bold… get some 🙂
Disclosure: I received complimentary product and toppings to find #MyBixMix perfection. Opinions are my own; honest and genuine.
