For the past month or so I’ve been seeing this Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Mascara all over the place and when I got the chance to try it out for free I jumped at the chance… I may make my livelihood on the interwebs, but I know that there is a lot of smoke and mirrors involved with online marketing (wrap ads, anyone?)
Kim Crooks, my Independent Presenter for Younique products was more than excited for me to try out the mascara, but did give me the tip that it can take a couple of tries to get it just right… basically practice makes perfect.
The kit comes in a great case, so it will never get mixed up with your regular mascaras. Inside the case there are two tubes, one slightly larger than the other. Once you’ve applied your regular mascara and let it dry, you apply from the big (transplanting gel), then the little (natural fibers), then the big again.
Our simple three-step process combines Transplanting Gel and Natural Fibers to help create the appearance of incredible thickness and volume to your existing lashes. Watch as your lashes transform into something you have only dreamed of! The 3D Fiber Lashes are water resistant but easily washes off with warm water and facial cleanser at the end of the day. Try it! It will quickly become your favorite makeup must-have!
Although I love make-up, I am far from an expert when it comes to application… but I have fun with it. Here’s how I did on my first try:
Not bad, not bad at all… a little clumpy, but that’s my bad. I could definitely see a huge difference. The next thing I wanted to see was how easy the Younique was to remove. I had some falsies glued in before while I was doing a photo shoot and I was scrubbing them for 2 days trying to remove them – never again!
The Younique 3D Fiber Lashes came right off with my Mary Kay Eye Makeup Remover, phew.
The next day, I gave it another try (on both eyes even), and did a bit better…
While I may not have gotten as fabulous as results as some of the ads I’ve seen online, I also didn’t have a professional makeup artist applying it. Is it worth $35? I’d say so, I’ve spent almost as much on mediocre mascara that didn’t give any lengthening. I understand why Kim is having a hard time keeping up with demand.
If you are like me and want to see it to believe it, Kim has offered to personally send one of my Canadian readers their own Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes set to try out… to enter, simply fill out the Rafflecopter below.
