My artsy-fartsy side came out last night and it resulted in an evening-long craftathon while watching DVR’d True Detective. I wanted to make Chelsea some cute Valentines for her preschool party on Thursday and had an idea to gussy up my set of three white LED pillar candles that I bought at Christmastime. With minimal cursing and only one glue gun burn, here is what I came up with:
I love this banner! I made the flags from card stock and cut them with my fancy pants paper cutter. I then hot-glued buttons that spelled ‘LOVE’. My inner Snooki demanded that animal prints be involved. I strung the flags with twine and hung some extra hearts over the mirror. See those cute boxes beside the fireplace? They are the Memory Boxes from Michaels and I love them. I think I am up to about 15 of them stacked in my craft room/office.
My plain white candles were transformed into this…
On my Mother of the Year nomination forms, I would like to have it mentioned that I hand cut all 20 of these card stock hearts one by one, with kiddy scissors!
Are you feeling the love? Do you like to make your own Valentines or do you buy store bought? I’m guilty of store-bought about half of the time, but not this year baby!
