I’ve been in a retro-recipe phase lately. Tomato soup cake just screams 1950s, which is when the recipe was originally put out by Campbells and then subsequently handwritten on index cards by housewives throughout North America. Everyone loves to play the ‘guess the hidden ingredient’ game when this cake is served, since it tastes simply like spice cake.
PS. Don’t forget the eggs… unless you can’t eat eggs, then really without it’s not half bad.
